It is estimated by the International Energy Agency that 1.2 billion people do not have electricity, therefore it can be presumed that if these people get into trouble they would have no way of telling other proper authorities. During the earthquake of Nepal some villages could not be found easily by relief workers because of how remote the region is, and if these people had this product they could be found.

When researching, we found a product that never reached it’s goal of mass production called, “Rescue me Balloon”. It is essentially what we are attempting to make only without the gps and coordinate adaption we are attempting to make.
